The life and times of Sebald Rutgers

Climb the creaky stairs to the attic room and you will see Sebald Rutgers’ room the way it was when he locked the door in 1926 never to return. An outstanding engineer and a devoted socialist, Sebald Rutgers was in charge of the Kuzbass Autonomous Industrial Colony in 1922-1926. Not far from the museum there is a street that bears the name of this amazing Dutchman.
